Ma Boli Olympiad
Mission: To promote the use of the Punjabi language and restore its rightful place in the world.
EduSikh has launched the Ma Boli Olympiad — a first-of-its-kind initiative in India — to inspire pride and participation in the Punjabi language through self-assessment and self-realisation. The Olympiad invites members of the community to test how well they can read, write, and speak in Punjabi, while reflecting on the state of our linguistic heritage today.
It is both revealing and concerning that most individuals who perform well in the assessment are above 40 years of age. The participation and proficiency among the younger generation remain alarmingly low — a reminder of how rapidly we are losing touch with our Ma Boli, the language that carries our identity, our history, and our soul.
Through this Olympiad, EduSikh aims to spark awareness, responsibility, and revival. It is not merely a test, but a movement — encouraging parents, teachers, and community leaders to ensure that Punjabi is not just remembered, but lived and spoken by the generations to come.
By bringing together participants of all ages, the Ma Boli Olympiad seeks to celebrate linguistic roots, preserve cultural pride, and remind us that every word spoken in Punjabi is an act of keeping our heritage alive.
