Purpose Beyond Platforms: EduSikh at Dr. Ambedkar College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai
Over the past two months, EduSikh has deliberately extended its work beyond digital platforms, choosing to engage directly with classrooms, corridors and conversations that shape the lived realities of educators. These on-ground initiatives reflect a conscious effort to ensure that educational guidance remains personal, contextual and accessible.
Most recently, EduSikh conducted its second on-ground engagement at Dr. Ambedkar College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai, on the occasion of the Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The engagement was designed not as a promotional activity, but as a purpose-led intervention focused on meaningful dialogue and professional clarity for educators and aspiring teachers.
Creating Space for Thoughtful Career Conversations
The EduSikh stall evolved into a space for reflection and discussion, where educators engaged in one-on-one career conversations grounded in real challenges and long-term aspirations. These discussions focused on navigating structured teaching career pathways, understanding exam eligibility and strategic preparation for examinations such as TET, CTET and UGC NET, enhancing professional skills for long-term relevance and integrating technology thoughtfully into contemporary pedagogy.
Rather than surface-level queries, the conversations reflected a deeper need for structured guidance. Many participants sought clarity on sequencing their career decisions, aligning qualifications with opportunities and building sustainable teaching careers in an increasingly dynamic educational landscape.
Clarity as the Missing Link
A consistent insight emerged from these interactions: the challenge faced by many educators was not a lack of competence, but a lack of clarity. Participants demonstrated strong foundational knowledge, commitment to teaching and a willingness to grow. What they often lacked was informed direction and credible mentorship to channel their potential effectively.
This reaffirmed a central belief that guides EduSikh’s work - that education transforms most powerfully when guidance is personal, sustained and rooted in lived experience rather than generic advice.
Strengthening Community-Centred Educational Engagement
This engagement at Dr. Ambedkar College marked EduSikh’s second on-ground initiative within a span of two months, reinforcing the importance of consistent community presence. Such initiatives allow for trust-building, deeper understanding and meaningful impact that extends beyond isolated interactions.
