Educational Visit – Developing a Scientific Temper

As part of its continuous effort to promote experiential learning and holistic education, EduSikh Skill Academy organized an educational field visit for 25 students to the Nehru Science Centre, Nehru Planetarium, Nehru Museum, and the Gateway of India. The visit aimed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a scientific temper among young learners by offering them an opportunity to engage with science, history, and culture outside the classroom environment.

The day-long trip began with a visit to the Nehru Science Centre, where students explored interactive exhibits on physics, biology, and technology. The hands-on demonstrations allowed them to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications. From learning about the principles of motion and energy to understanding human anatomy and innovation, the centre sparked immense enthusiasm among the participants.

The next stop was the Nehru Planetarium, where students experienced a fascinating journey through space and the solar system. The immersive show expanded their understanding of astronomy, planets, and space exploration inspiring them to think beyond textbooks and imagine the possibilities of science and technology.

Following the planetarium, students visited the Nehru Museum, which offered insights into India’s history, leadership, and the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru. The exhibits helped students connect the nation’s scientific progress with its socio-political evolution, reinforcing the idea that science and leadership go hand in hand in nation-building.

The day concluded with a reflective stop at the Gateway of India a monument that stands as a symbol of Mumbai’s heritage and resilience. The visit encouraged discussions on history, architecture, and India’s journey through time, helping students appreciate the value of inquiry and exploration across disciplines.

Throughout the visit, educators guided students through observation-based activities and interactive discussions that promoted analytical thinking and curiosity. The trip was not just an excursion but an experiential learning exercise that aligned with EduSikh’s vision of education that goes beyond books one that teaches students to question, explore, and discover.

By engaging young minds in real-world experiences, EduSikh continues to uphold its mission of fostering scientific temper, intellectual curiosity, and lifelong learning among students.
